**Why are steriods always associated with the "meat-head" male athlete cheating to gain recognition? Obviously this does happen quite a lot in recent times but men are not the only ones using anabolic steriods. Although men are frequently the ones who use "performance-enhancers," MEN ARE NOT THE ONLY ONES ABUSING THE SYSTEM!
In fact, women are using steriods just as often as men do in professional sports. Perhaps the most notable would be Olympic Track Athlete Marion Jones. Jones was accused and later plead guilty to the use of anabolic steriods during the 2000 Olympic Games. She was sentenced to 6 months in jail. Thus, tainting her reputation and her relay team's medals. Jones is seen below celebrating her "win" in the 100m Final of the Sydney Games.
